Privacy Policy

The Customer’s privacy is very important to the Company and the Company will always act to protect the Customer’s information. The Company takes this responsibility seriously and are very careful about how and when the Customer’s personal information is collected, used and shared.

This statement tells the Customer in general terms what the Company commitment is, why the Company needs to collect personal information, who the Company may share that information with outside of the Company and how the Customer may access the information that the Company keeps.

The Company’s privacy commitment

The Company will always ensure that the Company handles the Customer’s personal information securely and carefully. The Customer’s personal information will only be used when it is necessary for the Company to deliver the Customer a service or perform other essential business functions and activities. The Company will not use the Customer’s personal information for purposes unrelated to the services the Company provide, without first obtaining the Customer’s consent. Wherever possible, the Company will give the Customer the option of interacting anonymously with the Company, provided that it is practicable and lawful to do so. The Company will always use fair and lawful means of collecting personal information and in most circumstances the personal information that the Company collect will be supplied directly by the Customer.

What personal information the Company collect and how do the Company use it

In most cases, the personal information that the Company collect is supplied directly by the Customer when the Customer provides the Company with the Customer details, places an order, or provides feedback to the Company. Please be informed that the Customer’s personal information includes the Customer name, email address, mobile phone number and postal address. In providing the Customer’s personal details, the Customer consents to the Company using the data collected in order to meet the Company commitments to the Customer and to provide the Customer with the service the Customer expect. The Company needs the Customer data for the following purposes:

  • To create the Customer’s personal account at the Company (e.g. the Customer name and email address)
  • To process the Customer’s orders via the Company online services (e.g. the Customer name, address, date of birth and bank details)
  • To send text message notifications of delivery status (e.g. the Customer mobile phone number)
  • To contact the Customer in the event of any problems with the delivery of the Customer Goods (e.g. telephone number, address)
  • To answer the Customer queries and to inform the Customer of new or changed services (e.g. the Customer email address)
  • To manage the Customer’s account by carrying out credit checks (e.g. name and address)
  • To send the Customer marketing offers such as newsletters and catalogues (e.g. the Customer email address, name and postal address) **
  • To analyse the Customer’s personal data to provide the Customer with relevant marketing offers and information (e.g. name, buying habits) if the Customer consents to receiving the same **

It is obligatory for the Customer to provide the Company with their personal information for the purposes stated above save for the purposes marked [**], without which the Customer will not be able to purchase the Goods or order samples via this website. The Customer may choose whether to consent to the Company using their personal information for the purposes marked [**].

The Company will not sell, offer or release any information that the Customer gives the Company without the Customer’s consent to do so. The Customer’s personal information will be disclosed to suppliers, contractors, transporters, or agents of the Company in order to facilitate customer service and answer the Customer’s problems or queries regarding the Company’s products and for legitimate purposes related to day-to-day business and operations. The Customer’s personal information may be transferred and stored outside Malaysia in countries which the Company has servers.

The Customer also has the right to access and modify the personal information and to limit the manner in which the Company processes the Customer’s personal information or the types of information processed by the Company by contacting the Company’s E-Commerce Executive via telephone at +603 5033 9333, or via e-mail to enquiries@creativelab.com.

In the event that the Customer elects to withdraw consent to the processing of his personal information (save for the purposes that are obligatory), the Company may not be able to provide the Customer with the full range of the services described, contact the Customer and/or conduct market analysis.

The Company will normally contact the Customer if needed through email, or by telephone whenever necessary.

The Company will only keep the Customer’s data for as long as necessary to carry out the Company services to the Customer or for as long as the Company is required to by law. After this the Customer’s personal data will be deleted. The Company cannot remove the Customer data when there is a legal storage requirement, such as book-keeping rules or when there are legal grounds to keep the data, such as an on-going contractual relationship.

Who the Company share the Customer’s information with

The Company never passes on, sells or swaps the Customer’s data to third parties for marketing purposes outside the Company .

How does the Company protect the Customer’s personal data?

The Company has taken technical and organisational measures to protect the Customer data from loss, manipulation, unauthorised access, etc. The Company continually adapts the Company’s security measures in line with technological progress and developments. The Company protects the Customer data using encryption. Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is a function that encrypts all information sent between Company and Customer.

Card purchases

To make card purchases with the Company as secure as possible, all information is sent in encrypted form using SSL. This means that the information is passed through a secure connection and that the Customer card details cannot be read by external parties.

For card purchases the Company works with an authorised payment agent that helps the Company to check directly with the Customer’s bank that the card is valid for purchases. The Company payment agent processes the Customer card details in the correct way according to the international security standard PCI DSS, which was developed by the card companies VISA, MasterCard, Diners, American Express and JCB. This means that the Customer card details are processed with a very high level of security.

When the Customer pays by card, the Company reserves the right to carry out an identity check.

Linked sites

The Company is not responsible for the privacy practices of sites linked to the Company via hyperlinks, banner advertising or other means. Please take care at all times when visiting another site.

Cookies and online advertising

A cookie is a small text file that is saved to, and, during subsequent visits, retrieved from the Customer computer or mobile device. The Company uses cookies to enhance and simplify the Customer visit. The Company does not use cookies to store personal information or to disclose information to third parties. There are two types of cookies: permanent and temporary (session cookies). Permanent cookies are stored as a file on the Customer computer or mobile device for no longer than 12 months. Session cookies are stored temporarily and disappear when the Customer close the browser session. The Company uses permanent cookies to store the Customer choice of start page and to store the Customer details if the Customer select “Remember me” when the Customer log in. The Company uses session cookies when the Customer uses the product filtration function, to check whether the Customer are logged in or if the Customer has put an item in the Customer’s shopping cart. The Customer can easily erase cookies from the Customer’s computer or mobile device using the Customer browser. For instructions on how to handle and delete cookies please look under “Help” in the Customer browser. The Customer can choose to disable cookies or to receive a notification each time a new cookie is sent to the Customer computer or mobile device.Please note that if the Customer chooses to disable cookies, the Customer will not be able to take advantage of all the Company features.

Third-party cookies

The Company uses third-party cookies to collect statistics in aggregate form in analysis tools such as Google Analytics and Core Metrics. The cookies used are both permanent and temporary cookies (session cookies). The permanent cookies are stored on the Customer computer or mobile device for no longer than 6 months.
